Rua Red

A Good Night's Sleep—Morag Myerscough

Rua Red is a space that is open to everyone. From workshops and events, to classes, tours, talks, and more, there’s always something happening here. Collaborating closely with artists, we create many ways for people to connect with contemporary art.

As well as a jam packed calendar of events, we partner with schools, colleges, educators and community organisations to deliver workshops, screenings, performances, and exhibitions. Annual graduate shows with third-level art colleges and community-led projects are just some of the ways that we foster creativity and engagement.

You can find further information below, or check out the calendar to see what’s happening.

LEARN—REFLECTRESPOND

Gallery Learning

The gallery learning programme at Rua Red complements the exhibitions, helping visitors discover new perspectives and ways to experience the artworks. Bringing together artists, researchers, activists, and community groups, we create events, workshops and talks that invite you to explore themes and approaches in contemporary art. Alongside every exhibition we host artist talks, workshops, screenings, and activities that open up dialogue and exchange of ideas. You can find out what’s coming up in Rua Red’s Gallery below.

Schools and Colleges

Tours and workshops are available that support the curriculum from primary through to third level. Tours can be customized to focus on specific themes and interest areas.

Rua Red offers Visual Thinking Strategy tours that enhance student learning by encouraging participants to think speculatively and to respond to artwork from their point of view, offering evidence for their ideas grounded in their observations.

Partnerships

Rua Red works with groups and organisations on many varied projects. Our partners include Hope and Ambition, NCAD, TU Dublin, Civic Theatre, Tallaght Library, Tallaght Drug and Alcohol Task Force, Eve New Horizon, Chime, and The Irish Prison Service.

Rua Red is a home to many arts organisations, producers and initiatives that together  deliver arts programming across music, dance, theatre, performance and targeted projects for underserved and underrepresented groups.
